C. FRY: A Big-Handed Fisherman
Big hands were an asset to Peter C. Fry, even when he
was using them to tie flies onto hooks to use as bait
when fly-fishing. It was an activity on a rainy day, when
fishing might be out of the question, for him and his
6-year-old daughter, Taylor. She had a natural advantage
with her smaller fingers, but Mr. Fry's hands taught
hers, said his wife, Meredith. Mr. Fry's friends say they
will take Taylor fishing now.
Mr. Fry, who worked at Euro Brokers, was a great cook,
his wife says. "Actually, he was a chef," she said,
correcting herself with a laugh. He could use whatever
was in the refrigerator to whip together a feast for Mrs.
Fry, Taylor and 3-old Caley. The two met at the River Cat
Grill in Norwalk, Conn. Mrs. Fry was trying to set a
friend up with Mr. Fry but he was more interested in her,
and six months later, they were engaged. "He saw me
instead," Mrs. Fry said simply.
